JEE Main and Advanced are widely regarded as the most challenging exams among all competitive examinations. The curriculum is based on 11th and 12th standard subjects, with selected tough topics represented in multiple-choice questions. These exams assess students' capability, willingness, and skills to secure admission into IIT.
Millions of candidates register for JEE exams, but only around 10,000 are selected for enrollment in IIT after clearing the exams. The selection process involves rigorous scrutiny in the initial round, followed by JEE Advanced, where 70% to 80% of candidates are further sorted for IIT admission.
Cracking such competitive exams requires in-depth knowledge of subjects and the ability to find accurate answers within the allotted time. IIT-JEE evaluates candidates abstract understanding and aptitude through a specific testing pattern.
Additionally, the 12th standard exam lays the foundation for understanding the study curriculum and teaches strategies to avoid negative marking for incorrect answers, enabling students to score well.
Candidates appearing for JEE Main had the opportunity to make three consecutive attempts
JEE Main consisted of three sections: Section 1. Section 2, and Section 3.
Section 1 was specifically designed for admission into B.Tech/B.E. programs catering to students aspiring for engineering careers.
Section 1 comprised three sub-sections aligned with subjects from 10th and 12th standards:
